Case study of WHO Abortion care guideline (2022)
The webinar will mark the launch of the evidence brief “Meaningful Youth Engagement in WHO Guideline Development: Case Study of the WHO Abortion Care Guideline (2022)”. Building on lessons from the Abortion care guideline, the brief shows how young people contribute to decision-making by sharing lived experiences, fresh perspectives, and innovative solutions to complex health challenges.
It demonstrates that youth participation strengthens dialogue, enriches policy development, and ensures global health guidance reflects the realities of those most affected. The brief also embeds engagement as a principle of inclusivity and equity in developing comprehensive health guidelines, while offering practical strategies to support WHO departments, youth networks, and partners in institutionalizing meaningful youth involvement across technical and normative work.
