HEPA Europe and the National Institute of Public Health of Slovenia, in collaboration with WHO/Europe, invite you to the 17th HEPA Europe conference, which will take place on 8–10 September 2026 in Ljubljana, one of Europe’s greenest capitals. The event will also host the network’s 21st annual meeting, bringing together members from across Europe.
The 2026 theme, “Green pathways to health”, explores how green spaces and the 24-hour movement behaviour framework – physical activity, sedentary behaviour and sleep – can jointly support healthier and more resilient communities. The conference will highlight innovative policies, practices and research addressing noncommunicable disease prevention and equitable access to health-enhancing environments.
The programme will feature keynote speakers, symposia, parallel oral sessions and short 2-minute pitches, as well as social and networking events. The annual meeting of HEPA Europe and parallel sessions of its HEPA working groups will also be hosted during the conference.
A series of pre-conference workshops, organized by HEPA working groups, will take place on 7 September 2026.
We are pleased to announce that we will soon be accepting submissions for abstracts and symposia. We warmly invite researchers, practitioners, policy-makers and other stakeholders to contribute to the scientific programme by sharing their latest work, insights and innovations in the field of health-enhancing physical activity.
